Emergency Roof Repairs in Zurich — 60-Minute Response
Active leak, storm damage, or slipped slates? Dachdecker Zurich's emergency team is on call 365 days a year and arrives in 60 minutes across Zurich and most of the commuter belt. We make the roof safe first, document the damage for your insurer, and quote the permanent repair before we leave.
Every project follows a clear inspection, quote, delivery, and quality review path so you know what is happening before work begins.
Step 1
Call 044 505 67 69 — straight to a working roofer
No queues, no call centre. Day or night, 365 days a year, you speak to one of our active roofers and we book a call-out window inside the next 60 minutes for Zurich addresses or 90 minutes for the wider commuter belt. We confirm by SMS so you know when to expect us.
Step 2
Make the roof safe first
Our first priority on arrival is to stop further water entry. Depending on the situation that's a tarpaulin cover, lead-lined patch, emergency flashing repair, or temporary ridge securing. We don't price the permanent repair until you and your roof are out of immediate risk.
Step 3
Document everything for your insurer
We photograph the damage, the surrounding context, and the temporary repair before we leave. If we used drone or thermal imaging we send you the raw files. Most Swiss home insurance policies cover storm damage when documented this way — we've helped hundreds of Zurich homeowners through claims in the last 17 years.
Step 4
Quote the permanent repair before we leave
You get a written quote on the same callout, with itemised costs (lead grade, tile count, scaffolding if needed, day rate) and a guaranteed 30-day price hold. If the work qualifies for an insurance claim we can liaise directly with the loss adjuster on your behalf so you don't have to chase paperwork.
Step 5
Permanent repair scheduled within 5 working days
Most emergency callouts convert to a scheduled permanent repair within 5 working days. Bigger jobs (full ridge re-mortar, partial re-roof, structural timber repair) take longer to source materials and scaffolding but we keep the temporary cover in place at no extra cost until permanent work starts.
Step 6
Final inspection and 20-year guarantee handover
Once permanent repairs are complete we walk you through the work, hand over guarantee paperwork, and clear all materials and waste from the site. Every Dachdecker Zurich repair carries a written 20-year workmanship guarantee — keep the certificate with your insurance documents.

What to expect during your emergency roof repairs project.
We start with a practical assessment, explain the condition of the roof, and agree the right scope before work begins. You get updates during the job, daily site care where needed, and a final review before handover.
Timing depends on access, weather, materials, and the scale of the work, but our team keeps the process straightforward from first call to completion.
A selection of recent emergency repairs across Zurich and surroundings — slipped slates after Atlantic gales, storm-damaged ridge tiles, leak diagnostics with thermal imaging. All work documented for the homeowner and their insurer.
01How fast can you actually get to me in an emergency?
Zurich and inner suburbs (Schwamendingen, Aussersihl, Oerlikon, Wiedikon, Sihlfeld, Enge, Riesbach) — 60 minutes from your call. Wider commuter belt (Altstetten, Dübendorf, Höngg, Kloten, Wipkingen) — 90 minutes. Outlying areas (Bülach, Unterstrass, Opfikon, Albisrieden) — within 2 hours where roads allow. We tell you the realistic ETA before we hang up the phone.
02Will my home insurance pay for the emergency callout?
Most standard Swiss home insurance policies cover emergency roof repairs caused by storm damage, fallen trees, or sudden mechanical failure. We capture the photographic evidence your insurer needs and itemise the quote so claim processing is straightforward. Insurance does not usually cover wear-and-tear leaks (e.g. perished felt, eroded mortar) — we will tell you on the day whether your situation looks claimable.
03What can I do safely while I wait?
Move furniture and electronics away from the leak. Place buckets and towels under active drips. Turn off any light fittings or sockets near the affected area at the fuse board if water is near electrics. Do not climb onto a wet roof or attempt to tarpaulin it yourself in wind or rain — that is what we are coming for.
04Do you charge a call-out fee?
No call-out fee on top of repair work. The CHF 75 emergency assessment fee is included in the cost of any work you proceed with. If we attend and recommend no immediate repair (rare — usually means the leak source is plumbing, not roof), we charge the CHF 75 assessment for the time on site.
05Can you work in storms or only after they pass?
We will attend in any weather to make a roof safe — that is the whole point of an emergency callout. Permanent repairs in heavy rain, snow, or wind above 25 mph are not safe to carry out for the team or the work, so we prioritise temporary cover and schedule permanent repair for the next workable window. Tarpaulin cover holds in any conditions you'd expect in Zurich.
06Do you handle commercial as well as residential emergencies?
Yes. We handle emergency callouts for residential, commercial, and light industrial properties across Zurich. Larger commercial roofs (warehousing, retail, healthcare) often need a different access plan — we have access to MEWP and scaffolding contacts who can mobilise on short notice.
